Technical observation is essential for an IT Manager to select Hardware for attendance & access control system.
Some security device only works as attendance machine & some support both attendance & access control i.e. magnetic door lock. Now a days a number of verification combinations are available for attendance device like Proximity/RFID Card, Password, Finger, Irish, Face Detection & so on. For proper security there should required for a peered attendance device while push button for exit is not a ideal solution. At the same time considering for future occurrence there should also have an emergency exit switch.
User registration, user recognition/detection, template volume, transaction storage capacities are also the considerable issues.
This is also important for the security device that - is it support direct TCP/IP or have to use any converter between the device & server?
Attendance data receiving process is one of the most important issue since here have the chance to overflow data if the device cross it's transaction storage capacity. So in this case, the software (device default/custom) is responsible to automate data receiving.process. Just take care for this configuration consciously.
Most of the cases the default software have limited functionality except few one. In this case custom software might required for the organization to fulfill the requirement.
Post implementation support capability is an vital factor to select a proper vendor for many cases. Warranty, Annual Maintenance Contact (AMC) are the terms for post implementation caution.
Last of all product price is the key point to select & award a vendor for purchase. These are major technical observation to implement attendance & access control security system in any organization.
The technical observations can be illustrated as the following table at a glance.
