Fix - Invalid Security Certificate! Error Code: sec_error_expired_certificate!

Invalid security certificate error message is showing in my computer since last few days. This is very annoying to work on web browser. The error detail is as follows:

'------ uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate will not be valid until ‘date & time’. The current time is ‘date & time’.

(Error Code: sec_error_expired_certificate)

This could be problem with server’s configuration or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.

If you have connected to this server successfully in the past the error may be temporary & you can try again later. '

The error message can be different varying the reason behind the error & the web browser is being used for surfing internet.

Solution:

1. The Computer’s date & time is set to a wrong value.
2. The Security Certificate has really expired.
3. The web-site is not trust-able.

 

It may happen that the current date & time is not set as correct. This was problem for mine & resetting date & time in my computer the security certificate error was solved.

Now after resetting the date & time settings as correct, if you still see the error message again, then either the certificate of the website has really expired as it had to be renewed from time to time, otherwise the site is not trust-able.
