How to Disable Auto Lock in Windows XP/7 ?

To disable auto lock in Windows 7 follow the instructions.

1.      Click Start.
2.      Click Control Panel.
3.      Click Power Options.
4.      Click on “Require Password on Wakeup” on the left pane.
5.      Select the option “Don’t require a password.”


HOW TO DISBALE AUTO LOCK IN WINDOWS XP ?

To disable auto lock in Windows XP follow the instructions.

1. Go to Run wirte "Regedit.exe" & press enter.
2. Go to the path below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop
3. Make the  dword value of "ScreenSaverIsSecure" to "0" Or DELETE "ScreenSaverIsSecure".

That's all.

Can also be disabled in Win XP by following very similar instructions to those given for Windows 7. No need to edit the registry at all.

Yes! Duane Ferguson has made a right comment...
In XP there is also a similar option like Windows7.

1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Power Options.
4. Go to Advanced tab & un-check "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby"

That should be all. Registry edit might be optional.
